Won't buy Amana stove again!

Bought this stove barely 2 years ago, my first Amana stove. Basic but good except for strange noises the oven makes when heating. However now I'm getting the infamous F1E6 code and turning the breaker off and waiting does nothing so looks like I already have to replace the control board on a 2 year old stove. My last stove lasted way over 20 years with no issues except changing burner pans. Since I live alone I don't cook excessively so it sure isn't due to wear and tear!

I have had this brand new range for two weeks. I have made my sour dough bread twice and the oven doesn't work worth a darn! The temperature needs to stay at 500 degrees for twenty minutes. It attains the 500 then progresses to loose temp the entire cooking time. So incredibly aggravating! As for the top stove burners and this temperature control nonsense it will not allow me to fry chicken crisp BECAUSE IT LOOSES TEMPERATURE and the chicken gets soggy. WHAT A COMPLETE FAILURE OF A MACHINE DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

I am glad to have a stove with minimal electronics. It is a bit cheaply made but it was not costly. The burner placements are awkward. And it is very difficult to get a proper amount of heat for what is on stove. The lowest temp on burner is still kind of high. But I like it well enough for the price.

I purchased an Amana 30-in Model ACR4303MMS FOR $599 ON MARCH 24,2025 The description says Versatile Cooktop but I have to spend long hours cooking what I use to cook in on hour for dinner of 4. These burners with that sensor in the middle and the on and off of each range!!! I can't complete a pan of fries without having to turn all burners on and transfer the pan when the burner turns on so I can finish cooking!

Mixed feelings....the good and the bad....

I have mixed feelings about the stove. First, it heats faster than my old Frigidaire both on the stovetop and in the oven which I like. I'm not sure how I feel about the exposed heating element in the bottom of the oven. I have yet to boil anything over in it, but I'm afraid its going to be very hard to clean (both the element and around and under it). I suspect the exposed element is one reason why it heats up faster but I'm not sure the trade off will be worth it. I did buy some oven liners just in case. I really do like the WARM feature and that I can go as low as 145° for dehydrating. That's a big plus for me. The main reason that I only gave it 4 stars is because of multiple small things that all seem to add up. First I'll start with the "START" button. I find it extremely annoying that I have to hit the start button after every time I do something. If I want to pre heat the oven, select temp and hit start, change the temp.. hit start, use the pre-set temps... hit start...set the timer...hit start... add more time... hit start... and so on. I never had to do that before and so for me it's a major annoyance because I forget to hit start and then come back and realize the oven isn't hot or the timer didn't go off because it never started. And that leads me to the timer... once you set the timer ... and hit start... you can't add time to it without turning it off and starting over... and don't forget to hit START.... AGAIN! I also wish the timer was louder so that I could hear it from the next room. Next, are the sensors on the burners. I realize that these are government mandated safety things, but they create a "dead" spot for heat in the center of the burner which is a pain when cooking things like burgers or pancakes, or toasting buns. The last thing that I have an issue with are the 2 small burners. The back left burner on low is hotter than the right front burner. You would think that they'd be the same right?

Room For Improvements

There is room for improvements on the model I bought. First, the coil burners on my new model has the large and small burners in the reverse order as my previous model. I liked that the previous model had a large burner on the right-front side of the range. Alabama has switched the positions of the burners. Second, the storage space below the oven is smaller than my prior model, so I can't fit all my baking dishes in the drawer. Third, the sound on the timer is almost inaudible. As a senior citizen I can't hear the timer go off so I've had to go out and buy a timer that has a louder ring to tell me when to me when the oven goes off. The range would be perfect if those features could be implemented on future models.

The oven and the range top, get too hot. Food I normally cook at 400, has to be lowered to 375 and can burn. Stove top runs extra hot as well! I do love the color and overall look of the stove. I just have to adjust all cooking temperatures and watch close while I cook.

In general I am quite happy with my new Amana range and oven. I was concerned when I read some reviews before I bought it that the temperture sensor "button" on each coil would shut off the burner prematurely. That has not happened to me. My one complaint at this point is the fact that the storage drawer does not fit evenly: one side is higher than the other, and I can't get it to sit squarely - either when it is empty or when I have some oven or broiler pans stored in it.

I this recently and still cannot figure out why the burners have a button in the middle of each one. The clerk said that it was a safety feature and that the burner would not work unless there was a pan on the burner. That is not true I went through all of the papers that came with the stove but there is no information about this.
